The other Chris.

Believe it or not, I'm not much into web-comics. Also, I have attention deficit for real life stories. Well... after knowing the work of Chris Downes, I changed my mind.

Chris has a normal life as many of us. In Tasmania (!). But every night, at the drawing table, his life becomes his inspiration... and he stands out among the crowd. His purpose is simple yet essential: to share the tiny details that makes "the Everyday" so unique and unrepeatable.

Have a laugh, shed a tear, make a daily discovery of the adventures and misadventures of Chris & Briony in the Land of Oz. Hi Briony!
Any similarity with real characters and events, is not purely coincidental.

BTW: Chris made two comic-chronicles about his participation on this "project" and one nice color drawing. The second strip became the participation itself. Amazing. Thanks, Chris!

Alim is an important part from my Athens Adventure. We both were strangers in a strange land... He's very good with the camera and he has a sharp style with the pen and a splendid imagination for telling stories. And here's the other image he made just for me: LINK

And i feel guilty! I never did a decent drawing for Alim. And, on top of it, I asked him for MORE drawings when I returned to Morelia with my bag full of presents, INCLUDING his personal comic anthology and another one from his collective :) Proud owner!!!

I don't understand shit, but I also really like his live-journal. Make a visit!

Outer spaces meeting inner spaces with a razor-sharp sense for design.

This british photographer and I have a silent agreement: to compulsively find hidden thoughts on every corner of the world. Invention is allowed. And the best way for deciphering the hidden message is using square-perfect-frames. His way of finding tiny universes is so unique... and at the same time so familiar.

I'm very pleased with his collaboration. I couldn't expect less.

Meet Adriano (artist formerly known as Adrián P. Acosta).
He reads in bed. He plays the guitar and bass.
He does wonderful ink-drawings and watercolors.
He has the good habit of writing short fiction around his imaginary snapshots.*
He has the bad habit of being my unconditional friend since 1996.

*Muchos vecinos de la colonia Duquesa recuerdan bien el pequeño escándalo que se suscitó cuando el famoso tenor iberomexicano Ramón Serrano de Patanegra se dejó ver paseando despreocupadamente con su amante mientras su esposa agonizaba de tuberculosis en una cama del hospital Genovés.

Pocos vecinos recuerdan, sin embargo, que, a la semana de haber fallecido la agonizante esposa, don Ramón Serrano de Patanegra fue encontrado muerto en la bañera de su departamento en condiciones muy sospechosas.

Ningún vecino recuerda el nombre de la amante del famoso tenor.
